Dishwasher Repair
Drainage, wash-arm, heater and leak diagnostics on Viking integrated dishwashers.
What people describe when they call
- Standing water in the sump at the end of every cycle
- Dishes come out gritty on the top rack but clean on the bottom
- Cycle runs three hours and the load is still soaking wet
- A slow leak showing up as a dark line along the cabinet toe kick
How the visit runs
- 01 The description over the phone. Model number and the exact behaviour. Half the likely causes are usually eliminated before anyone leaves.
- 02 A real assessment on site. Measured, not guessed — temperatures, gas pressure, continuity, whichever applies. The $89 service call covers the visit and the full assessment, and it is credited against an approved repair.
- 03 A firm price, then the repair. Parts and labour quoted as one number. Nothing is ordered or opened up until you agree to it.
What it costs
What dishwasher repair costs
Flat $89 service call covering the visit and full diagnosis, credited against the repair once you approve it.
Parts and labour are quoted as one firm figure, agreed with you before anything is ordered or opened up — and the $89 already paid for the visit comes off that figure the moment you approve the work. The bands below are ranges because the same fault costs differently from one Viking model to the next.
- Igniter or burner assembly
- $190–$460
- Oven thermostat or heating element
- $200–$470
- Refrigeration fan or defrost system
- $290–$700
- Dishwasher pump or control
- $200–$420
- Control board or touch panel
- $480–$670
- Compressor or sealed-system repair
- $1,320–$3,130
Worth setting against those bands: a comparable Viking replacement, before installation, $6,500–$16,950 in this market. On equipment built to be rebuilt rather than swapped out, even the heaviest band above is usually the cheaper road.

Glasses on the top rack kept coming out chalky, the bottom rack fine. A cracked spray-arm bearing, plus a filter nobody had ever lifted out. Both dealt with, and it washes properly now.
A dark line along the toe kick turned out to be a slow leak from the door seal, not the pump as I had feared. New gasket fitted. He did have to come back once to adjust it.
Ours ran three hours and still left the load damp — a dead heater circuit. He also walked us through which parts of the suite needed doing now and which could wait a year. That is rare.
